My boyfriend has just got a new car and is offering his old car to me for the weeks before uni to get to work etc so im after insurance for 6 weeks only but all the ones i have looked at wont insure a young driver. I wanted to go with Diamond insurance as they are cheapest for me but not sure if they will offer me short term cover. Help!

Last night I was coming home from a concert in Cleveland Ohio. Stupidly I wasn't paying attention to my speed and got pulled over for a 76 in a 60. 16 Mph over. Knowing my parents would take my car away for who knows how long my brother has agreed to help me pay the ticket. So with the ticket taken care of, that leave the possibility of my insurance going up who knows how much. I have State Farm and am on my parents plan. I will be receiving 2 points from this ticket. If anyone has a general idea about the possibility of my insurance going up at all. - I have done previous reading and can't get a straight forward find. Im hoping it wont affect my insurance premium or whatever and I can be in the free!! thanks alot in advance

Could someone with some experience or knowledge around this give me a fairly accurate ballpark of what it would cost to insure myself? I live in Washington state, I'm a 19 year old male, and I've been in 3 accidents. The first was early December 2010, the second was late December 2010, both. Both were my fault, rear enders, and low speeds. The first one earned me a ticket for basically not paying attention, no injuries occurred. The first was a little over $3000 in damage, the second was 500-1000 and totalled the 99 vw jetta. The third accident was driving my girlfriends car and my insurance company was never involved. It was about 1600 in damages and was determined to be 50/50 fault by her, and the other drivers insurance companies. There will be 3 people total in the house, all of us drive. I'm looking into either a mid-late 80's Honda, a Rebel possibly, some kind of cafe racer, or a newer 2000's moped. All used, I'm looking in the 600-1000 range. I work full time and am attending college, I'm trying to compare pricings for motorcycles vs. mopeds that are roughly the same cc's, around 200-350.

Why do I have to pay first year homeowners insurance?

I'm in the process of purchasing a home. I'm taking out a FHA loan and my broker stated that I would have to purchase first year homeowners insurance for a year.
